Hi, my name is Shonna Kuhner, and I’m the founder of Ashes Up Bookkeeping here in Ocala, FL. After years of watching business owners spend late nights buried in receipts, spreadsheets, and payroll deadlines, I knew I wanted to create a service that gave them back their time and peace of mind. With the power of cloud technology and QuickBooks Online, I now help business owners locally and across the country stay organized, stress less, and focus on growing their businesses with confidence.

Pretty early in my career, I discovered I had a passion for helping small and medium-sized businesses bring order to their finances. Over the past 7+ years, I’ve worked in Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, and Compliance across industries like manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, and education. I’ve managed payroll for multi-state organizations, streamlined accounting processes, and modernized systems that saved companies thousands annually. What excites me most is seeing how clean books and clear financials can free business owners to make smart decisions and feel less stressed about their numbers.

I was born and raised in Northern California and moved to Florida in December 2024. Today, I live in Ocala with my boyfriend, my niece, and our two small dogs. Building Ashes Up Bookkeeping here has allowed me to combine my technical expertise with a people-first approach, helping business owners save time, reduce stress, and rise above the numbers.
